The Finnish social welfare and health service system has proved to be cost-efficient and of high quality, and it enjoys wide public support. Over the next few years, however, the sustainability gap in general government finances as well as changes in the population structure will prompt pressure for reform in service structures and organisational practices.
The Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities support municipalities in their efforts to improve the productivity and effectiveness of the service system, make the system more user friendly and develop operations that promote general health and well-being.
